The Teatro Municipal Rafael Aguiar features Italian horseshoe-shaped architecture with marble staircases, Austrian Thonet furniture, and decorated ceilings with paintings.
The construction of Teatro Municipal began in April 1906 and concluded in 1908, with its inauguration featuring Puccini's Manon Lescaut opera performance.
The theater maintains excellent acoustic conditions, allowing presentations of opera, ballet, orchestral performances, and theatrical productions throughout the year.
Located at the intersection of De la Nación and Maipú streets, the theater received National Historical Monument status in June 2011.
The venue shares construction materials and design elements with Buenos Aires' Teatro Colón, making it one of Argentina's premier lyrical theaters.
