Faxinal dos Guedes

Faxinal dos Guedes extends across 340 square kilometers of land, incorporating urban developments and natural landscapes at an elevation of 1,005 meters.

The territory emerged from a former military colony of Chapecó, receiving its first settlers from Rio Grande do Sul in 1940, primarily of Italian and German descent.

The municipality maintains two cultural centers and educational facilities, including six primary schools and two secondary schools serving the local population of 11,192 residents.

The municipal administration operates from the central district, providing public services through established infrastructure and maintaining connections to neighboring cities via regular bus routes.

The urban area sits partially on the western edge of a meteoritic crater known as the Vargeão Dome, forming a geological formation distinct to this region.
