The Auditorio Araújo Viana is a concert hall and theatre located in Farroupilha Park with a modern covered stage and seating for approximately 3,000 spectators. The building is designed to accommodate different types of performances and cultural events throughout the year.

The first Araújo Vianna auditorium opened on 19 November 1927 as an open-air neoclassical acoustic shell with 400 seats on four terraces, built for the Municipal Band, on the site later occupied by the Legislative Assembly. That building was demolished in 1958, and architects Moacir Moojen Marques and Carlos Maximiliano Fayet designed a hall four times larger, inaugurated on 12 March 1964 in Farroupilha Park. A vinyl canvas roof added in 1996 was closed in 2005 after a steel cable snapped; after an R$ 18 million renovation the venue reopened on 20 September 2012.

The name honours José de Araújo Vianna, a gaúcho composer trained in Italy whose opera Carmela followed the Italian model of his day. Since 2020 the venue has been run by Opinião Produtora, which collects about two tonnes of food through the sale of solidarity tickets: spectators who bring food get discounts on shows.

The venue is located in Farroupilha Park and is easily accessible by foot or public transportation. Check the schedule in advance as performances vary seasonally and it is best to plan your visit according to upcoming shows.

The auditorium's preservation stems from the 3 January 1997 landmarking of Farroupilha Park as a whole, not of the building on its own. A vinyl canvas roof added in 1996, inaugurated with a João Gilberto show, lacked acoustic treatment and drew complaints over sound levels reaching the Ministério Público.
