Chachakumani

Chachakumani is a summit in the Andean range located at 6,074 meters above sea level, featuring steep terrain and exposed rock throughout its ascent. The peak sits on the Cordillera Real massif with angular ridges and narrow sections that characterize its upper slopes.

This peak served as a natural boundary marker separating distinct indigenous territories during pre-Columbian times in the Bolivian highlands. Over centuries, this geographic role shaped settlement patterns and territorial relationships among mountain peoples.

Local Aymara and Quechua communities perform traditional ceremonies at the mountain base, viewing this peak as a spiritual guardian connected to their ancestral territories.
