Mahango Game Park

Located along the Okavango River, Mahango Game Park spans 245 square kilometers of floodplains, wetlands, and bushlands with abundant baobab trees.

The reserve was established in 1986 and became part of Bwabwata National Park in 2007, marking a significant step in Namibian wildlife conservation.

The park maintains natural ecosystems without lodges or camps in surrounding conservancies, preserving traditional migration routes for wildlife populations.

Visitors can access the park via the C48 road, with optimal wildlife viewing opportunities from August to November during morning and late afternoon hours.

The reserve houses 869 plant species, 300 bird species, and 99 mammal species, including endangered roan antelopes and African wild dogs.
