Popa Game Park, Protected area and rapids at Okavango River, Namibia.
The Popa Falls consists of a series of cascading rapids where the Okavango River drops four meters across a quartzite ledge in Kavango East.
The park received its official protected status in 1989, establishing Namibia's smallest game reserve with an area of 0.25 square kilometers.
The park connects multiple conservation zones in the Caprivi Strip, supporting local communities through sustainable tourism and wildlife management initiatives.
Visitors can access walking trails, communal kitchens, accommodation facilities, and a restaurant while exploring the rapids and surrounding riverine forest.
The park houses 417 bird species, including the Slaty Egret and Saddle-billed Stork, along with hippos and crocodiles in the Okavango River.
