Kigali City Tower, Commercial tower in Central Business District, Rwanda
The Kigali City Tower rises 20 floors above the Avenue du Commerce, featuring an elliptical design that maximizes office and retail space within its structure.
Construction of this USD 20 million structure began in 2006 by China Civil Engineering Construction and reached completion in 2011, transforming the former bus station site.
The tower stands as a representation of Rwanda's economic transformation, reflecting the nation's focus on developing a strong commercial and service sector.
The building contains 10,000 square meters of retail space and 7,000 square meters of office areas, including amenities such as coffee shops and East Africa's first 4D cinema.
Rwandan businessman Hatari Sekoko developed this architectural project after securing financial support from Japan, choosing an elliptical shape over the initial circular design.
