Mosque Agung Pondok Tinggi

Mosque Agung Pondok Tinggi is a religious building in Sungai Penuh featuring a distinctive three-tiered pyramidal roof in traditional Indonesian style. The structure is supported by 36 sturdy wooden pillars arranged in three groups.

The building was constructed in 1874 through community effort and received its current name during a 1953 visit by Indonesian Vice President Mohammad Hatta. This official recognition marked an important moment in its history.

The interior walls feature detailed wood carvings with local plant motifs and geometric patterns that reflect the craftsmanship traditions of the Kerinci region.
