Pelita Harapan University, Private Christian university in Karawaci, Indonesia
Pelita Harapan University is a private Christian institution in Karawaci that offers programs in business, law, humanities, and health sciences. The campus spans several modern buildings with academic departments and residential facilities for students.
The institution was founded on December 13, 1993, by Johannes Oentoro and James T. Riady with 250 students in three faculties at Asia Tower. Since then, it has grown into a larger campus with expanded academic programs.
The institution combines liberal arts education with religious principles and delivers instruction in a second language, setting it apart from regional institutions. Students take part in daily campus life that balances academic rigor with religious practice.
Students use Smart Cards to access academic resources and facilities on campus. Two dormitories are available: MYC Dormitory and Teacher College Dormitory.
The institution was the first educational establishment in Indonesia to conduct its entire academic program exclusively in English. This decision shaped the orientation of the institution from the start and attracted students seeking an international academic education.
