Sunda Strait Bridge

The Sunda Strait Bridge design spans 27 kilometers between Java and Sumatra, connecting these major Indonesian islands through multiple suspension sections.

Professor Sedyatmo from Bandung Institute of Technology first proposed the bridge construction in 1960 as part of the Tri Nusa Bimasakti plan.

The bridge project represents the Indonesian government's vision to strengthen connections between different regions and communities across the archipelago's main islands.

The construction requires an estimated budget of 200 trillion Indonesian rupiah and involves complex engineering solutions across multiple small islands.

The bridge route includes connecting sections from Java to Ular Island, then to Sangiang Island, and finally to Panjurit Island in Sumatra.
