Tanjung Lesung Beach

Tanjung Lesung Beach is a coastal destination in Pandeglang on Java's western shore, stretching for kilometers with wide sandy sections and shallow bays. The water is clear enough for swimming and snorkeling, and several areas offer water sports equipment and facilities for visitors.

The area was originally a small fishing settlement until 2012, when it was designated as a Special Economic Zone to drive regional development. This shift brought new infrastructure and tourism facilities to what had been a quiet coastal community.

Local fishing communities still practice their traditional methods for catching and processing seafood, creating a working landscape alongside tourist spaces. These daily routines give the beach its authentic character and show how residents coexist with visitors.

The location is easily reached from Jakarta in about three hours by highway, with multiple lodging options available near the shore. The best time to visit is during the drier months from May to September, when weather conditions are more stable for beach activities.

On clear days, you can see Mount Krakatau in the distance from the shore, offering a view of one of Java's most active geological sites. The beach also sits at the edge of Ujung Kulon National Park, where rare animals and untouched forest landscapes exist nearby.
