Kembangan

Kembangan is an administrative district in West Jakarta comprising six villages: North Kembangan, South Kembangan, North Meruya, South Meruya, Srengseng, and Joglo. These neighborhoods together form a large residential area with diverse character across its various sections.

This area transformed from farmland into urban housing as Jakarta expanded westward in the late twentieth century. The development shifted it from a rural zone into a modern residential section of the city.

The area is home to several residential communities where people celebrate traditional Indonesian holidays while embracing contemporary urban living. You can observe how local customs blend with the pace of modern city life across the different neighborhoods.

The area connects to downtown Jakarta through the KRL Commuter Line railway and provides access to the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road system. Visitors can move around easily using these main transportation routes.

The West Jakarta City Hall is located here, making this district the administrative hub for the entire western section of the city. This governmental presence gives the area a special status among its neighboring communities.
