Tambun railway station, railway station in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia
Tambun railway station is a commuter stop in Bekasi located on the Blue Line connecting Jakarta Kota with Cikarang. The facility has two island platforms and four tracks, with the main building newly constructed in 2024 using a modern, minimalist design.
The station opened originally in 1898 and was one of the oldest stations in the region. During Indonesia's independence movement, the original building served as a venue for negotiations and prisoner exchanges before being demolished during later renovations.
The station is easily accessible from the main road Jalan Mekar Sari and offers ample parking nearby. Travelers should know that direct line transfers are not possible here, requiring a return trip to transfer stations at Jatinegara or Manggarai.
The station sits just 400 meters from Pasar Tambun, a traditional market selling fresh produce and everyday goods. This market is within a short walk and gives visitors a glimpse into the daily commerce of the area.
