Dirgantara Mandala Museum, Military aviation museum in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Dirgantara Mandala Museum is a military aviation museum in Yogyakarta that displays a large collection of aircraft. Fighter jets, helicopters, and transport planes stand both indoors and on outdoor grounds covering just over four hectares.
The museum opened in 1969 in Jakarta and moved to Yogyakarta in 1978, occupying a former sugar factory. The site served as a logistics warehouse during the Japanese occupation.
The collection of 1,159 aviation items demonstrates Indonesia's technological advancement and military capabilities through educational displays and historical photographs.
The museum sits within the Adisutjipto Airport complex and opens during regular hours. Guided tours help visitors learn more about the exhibits and their role in Indonesian aviation history.
The collection includes a replica of the first aircraft built in Indonesia, the WEL-I RI-X. Nine prototype bombs developed in the country add another layer to the exhibits.
