Grha Sabha Pramana

Grha Sabha Pramana is a large assembly hall at Universitas Gadjah Mada designed to host academic events, ceremonies, and conferences. The building consists of two main levels with a spacious ground floor housing smaller meeting rooms and an upper floor containing the main auditorium with tiered seating.

Construction began in 1993 as part of a major expansion of the university's facilities, supported through international development funding. This project marked a turning point in the institution's ability to host large-scale academic gatherings and institutional ceremonies.

The structure incorporates traditional Javanese design through its distinctive roof shape and hand-carved wooden columns that reflect regional artistry. Walking through the spaces, visitors notice how the architectural language honors local craftsmanship while serving a modern institutional purpose.

The building's two-level design separates different functions, with multiple entry points making it easy for visitors to find their way. The layout is generally accessible, with stairs and ramps connecting the different spaces for various event sizes.

The main auditorium features a column-free central space, creating an open and unobstructed view for all audience members. This engineering solution demonstrates how modern building techniques were applied while preserving the traditional architectural character throughout.
