Ngliyep Beach

White sand stretches along the shoreline of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by steep cliffs and dense tropical forest covering an area of 10 hectares.

The beach was discovered in 1919 by a traveler from Yogyakarta named Mbah Atun and officially opened as a tourist destination in 1951.

Every year on the 14th of Rabi al-Awwal, local residents perform the Labuhan ceremony, bringing offerings accompanied by traditional Jaranan dance performances.

From Malang city center, visitors can reach the beach through a 62-kilometer paved road, with entrance fees of 15,000 rupiah per person.

Next to the main beach lies Putri Bay, featuring extraordinarily fine white sand and a small island called Gunung Kombang with ancient meditation sites.
