Gatra Beach

Gatra Beach is a sand beach near Sendang Biru in East Java with white sandy shores and limestone cliffs along the coastline. Small coral formations and aquatic plants are visible in the shallow waters close to the shore.

The beach became open to visitors in 2014 as part of an initiative to protect local marine ecosystems. This step combined environmental conservation with managed public access to the area.

Local fishermen from the nearby Sendang Biru fish market maintain traditional fishing practices while sharing the waters with beach visitors.

You can reach the shore by walking from the parking area or using a motorcycle taxi for shorter distance. The path is easy to navigate even if you are unfamiliar with the location.

The site limits the number of daily visitors to maintain environmental protection and visitor experience quality. This controlled access approach keeps the place from feeling crowded and helps preserve the natural setting.
