Tetes Cave

Tetes Cave is a limestone cave in Lumajang featuring multiple chambers decorated with natural rock formations created by water flow over time. An underground river runs through the passages, shaping the walls and creating the landscape visitors see today.

The cave formed over thousands of years as water interacted with limestone rock, gradually dissolving and shaping the passages. This natural geological process created the structure visitors explore today.

Bring a flashlight since the cave is dark, and wear sturdy shoes because the paths are wet and slippery in many areas. The walk from the parking area to the cave entrance is roughly one kilometer on foot.

Inside the cave, an underground river system features water drops falling from ceiling formations onto the subterranean stream below. These falls create echoing sounds that reverberate through the chambers, producing a distinctly resonant acoustic experience.
