Tuban

Tuban Regency extends across 1,839 square kilometers of northwestern East Java, bordered by the Java Sea to the north and Lamongan Regency to the east.

The region gained administrative significance during the Majapahit era in the 13th century when King Ronggolawe established governance on November 12, 1293.

The grave of Sunan Bonang, a central figure in Java's Islamic history, draws numerous Muslim pilgrims to the regency throughout the year.

The regency contains twenty districts with 311 rural villages and 17 urban settlements, connected by the main northern coastal highway of Java.

The region contains numerous limestone caves with formations, leading to its designation as the City of a Thousand Caves.
