Takisung Beach lies in Takisung Village, Tanah Laut Regency, about 22 km from Pelaihari and 87 km from Banjarmasin. Its roughly 0.65-hectare tourist area measures 85 m along the shore and 80 m inland, with a gentle slope and sand-to-mud substrates, mud dominating from north to south. Coconut palms line the brown sand facing the Java Sea.

Takisung Beach lies in Takisung Village, Takisung District, Tanah Laut Regency, about 22 km from Pelaihari and 87 km from Banjarmasin. Its coast is shaped by waves, especially in the west monsoon, and by sediment from the Barito River and other rivers entering the western shore. In October 2023, 150 mangrove stems were planted along the village coast as part of greening efforts.

Vendors at the beach market sell dried and fresh fish, prawns, shellfish decorations and pieces of coral bought directly from fishermen. The name Takisung comes from the village and district of the same name in Tanah Laut Regency. Visitors also watch home-based food processing, a common livelihood alongside fishing.

The site covers about 0.65 hectares, 85 metres long and 80 metres wide from the waterline, with parking, public toilets, bathrooms, shelters, a stage, a police post, a restaurant and a children's playground. The sand is gentle and the waves small, so swimming and sandplay are easy. Boats to the offshore "batu bejanggut" rock are arranged with local residents.

Offshore stands a large rock covered in slippery algae, which locals call batu bejanggut, "the bearded rock", because the growth hangs from it like a beard. Villagers ferry visitors out to it by boat.
