Sula Islands Regency, Administrative regency in North Maluku, Indonesia.

Sula Islands Regency spans two main islands called Sulabesi and Mangoli, plus several smaller surrounding islands in North Maluku. The territory includes agricultural lands that produce groundnuts, cassava, sweet potatoes, durian, and mangosteen.

The Dutch East India Company built a strategic fort in Sanana in 1652, marking the start of European presence in this Indonesian archipelago. This outpost shaped the region's development for centuries to come.

The Maksaira Festival brings together people from across the twelve districts to celebrate traditional dances, music, and regional dishes. This gathering keeps local customs and recipes alive for new generations.

The regency consists of multiple islands connected to each other, offering different landscapes to explore. The best time to visit is during the dry season when roads and water routes are most accessible.

The waters surrounding this regency hold substantial fish stocks, yet fishing activity currently remains relatively modest in scale. This untapped marine resource could become far more important economically if developed responsibly in the future.
