Sandgate Flyover

The Sandgate Flyover is a railway bridge that carries the Main North Line across Kooragang Island using two tracks made of prestressed concrete. The structure rises high above the surrounding landscape to create a grade separation.

The bridge was completed in 2006 by the Australian Rail Track Corporation to improve regional rail transport. It marked a turning point for Newcastle's infrastructure and modernised the railway connections serving the area.
