Collins Place stands at 271 Grey Street as a two-and-a-half story rendered brick structure with verandahs spanning three sides across two levels.
Built around 1889 for Ship Inn owner Michael Foley, the property served as residence for Brisbane surgeon Francis Glynn Connolly from 1890 until early 1910s.
The building's architectural features include a pitched corrugated iron roof, double clay pot chimneys, and original pressed metal ceilings with timber finishes.
The property underwent a significant engineering feat in 2014 when it was raised nine meters to accommodate the Southpoint development project.
During the 1988 World Exposition, the historical building operated as Collins Place Spaghetti House before becoming a police station in 1992.
