Collins Place, South Brisbane, Heritage-listed house in South Brisbane, Australia.

Collins Place stands at 271 Grey Street as a two-and-a-half story rendered brick building with verandahs spanning three sides across two levels. The structure features a pitched corrugated iron roof and preserves interior surfaces with original craft details.

The house was built around 1889 for Michael Foley, the owner of the Ship Inn. In the following decades it housed various residents, including a surgeon, before serving other purposes in the late 20th century.

The building displays Victorian features such as double clay chimneys and original pressed metal ceilings with timber finishes. These crafted details are typical of Brisbane residential architecture from that era.

The location sits in a central area with good walkability and connections to local transport. It is advisable to check opening times ahead as usage can vary.

In the 1990s the building was lifted approximately nine meters, a difficult undertaking that made it possible to preserve it for a major development project on the site. This lifting work was a notable engineering feat for the local area at the time.
