The Princess Theatre features a two-story rectangular brick structure with a central entrance portico, columns, and a mansard roof at 8 Annerley Road.
Built in 1888 by architect John Beauchamp Nicholson, this venue started as South Brisbane Public Hall before becoming Princess Theatre in 1893.
The theatre served as a platform for vaudeville shows, cinema screenings, and performances by Brisbane Repertory Theatre during the early 20th century.
The renovated space includes a 900-person auditorium, four bars, a cafe, private event areas, a rehearsal room, and an outdoor courtyard.
During World War II, the building transformed into an administrative and rehearsal center for the United States Entertainment Unit from 1942 to 1945.
