Norman Hotel, Historic hotel in Woolloongabba, Australia.
The Norman Hotel features an ornate parapet, hipped iron roof, cast iron columns, and detailed verandahs at the corner of Ipswich Road and Qualtrough Street.
Built in 1889 for Robert Heaslop, the hotel received its name from Sir Henry Norman, who served as Governor of Queensland after relocating from Jamaica.
The establishment earned recognition on the Queensland Heritage Register in 2005 for its architectural significance and role in Brisbane's commercial development.
Located at 102 Ipswich Road, the Norman Hotel operates as a steakhouse with outdoor dining areas and maintains its original two-story brick structure.
The third generation of the Power family manages this 1889 establishment, which carries the self-appointed title of Brisbane's worst vegetarian restaurant.
