Brisbane River Stage

Brisbane River Stage is an outdoor performance venue in City Botanic Gardens that holds up to 9,500 people. The space combines concrete and grass surfaces, with an additional screening area to accommodate overflow crowds during sold-out shows.

This venue opened in 1989, growing out of a temporary stage that was successful during World Expo 88. Its creation marked the start of its role as a major performance space in Brisbane.

Local and international artists perform here regularly, from well-known acts to emerging talent. Visitors sit on grass or concrete surfaces, creating a relaxed, community-focused setting for any occasion.

The space is open and visitors can bring blankets to settle comfortably on the grass areas. The best time to visit is during scheduled events, which typically happen in the warmer months.
