Architect Richard Gailey designed this structure in 1887 for the Watson Brothers Plumbing Company. The firm expanded to become Queensland's largest plumbing enterprise by the early 1900s.
The building reflects how local tradesmen shaped Brisbane's growth into an industrial hub in the late 1800s. It stands as a reminder of the businesses that built the city's economy during this era.
