138 Mary Street, Brisbane

The building at 138 Mary Street is a brick structure with three large arched openings topped by triangular pediments and a stone basement partially visible at street level. The construction displays typical features of early 20th-century storage buildings.

The structure was built in 1901 for Perkins Brewery and served as a wine and spirits storehouse until Alfred Lawrence & Co Ltd acquired it in 1943. The site was part of a larger brewery complex that operated in the city center.

The building shows how breweries once operated in the heart of Brisbane's city center and shaped the area's industrial character. It stands as a reminder of the crafts and trades that defined daily life in this neighborhood.
