Waterfront Place, Brisbane, Skyscraper in Brisbane central business district, Australia
Waterfront Place is a 40-story office building in Brisbane's central business district that rises to 162 meters and offers views of Brisbane River. The design features column-free interior spaces with large windows that flood the offices with natural light and riverfront views.
This office tower was constructed between 1987 and 1989 during a major development period of Brisbane's business district. The building's completion reflected growing investment in the city's commercial center during the late 1980s.
The foyer functions as a space where visitors can view rotating art displays from local and international artists. A grand piano in the entrance area adds a cultural element that enriches the experience for people passing through.
The building is easily accessible by public transport with bus routes and nearby train stations nearby, offering multiple entry points and an open foyer area for visitors. To view the art displays in the foyer, plan your visit during standard business hours when the space is most active.
The site has an overlooked historical layer as it sits on the location of Brisbane's original port area before becoming a modern business tower. An earlier warehouse building called Naldham House, constructed in 1888 for a shipping company, occupied this ground before today's structure was built.
