Victory Hotel

The Victory Hotel sits on a corner location at Edward and Charlotte Streets with two floors containing multiple bars and different spaces. It features a lounge area, deck, beer garden, gaming room, and pool tables spread across the property.

The building started in 1855 as the Prince of Wales Hotel and was renamed in 1921 to its current name. Major renovations happened in the 1880s under architect Richard Gailey's supervision.

The establishment became a social hub for working-class residents in the Frogs Hollow area during the 1890s. It evolved from simple lodging into a gathering place where locals spent their evenings.

The hotel is easy to locate thanks to its corner position at a major intersection in the city center. Visitors should know the space spans multiple levels with both indoor and outdoor areas to explore.

Of the 32 hotels recorded in Brisbane's central business district in 1951, this establishment ranks among only seven still operating today. Its survival makes it a rare remnant from an earlier era of downtown life.
