Built in 1855, the Victory Hotel is the oldest surviving hotel in Brisbane's central business district and was originally known as the Prince of Wales Hotel. Its verandahs were later removed, but the corner siting of a nineteenth-century hotel remains. A fire caused extensive damage on 27 July 2008; the hotel was rebuilt close to its original form and reopened on 9 March 2009, the year it was listed on the Brisbane Heritage Register.

The pub's name changed from the Prince of Wales Hotel to the Victory Hotel, and it has kept the corner siting of a nineteenth-century hotel even after its verandahs were removed. Its six bars, lounge, deck, pool room, beer garden and gaming room now serve city workers and visitors in the Brisbane central business district.
