169 Mary Street, Brisbane, Heritage-listed warehouse in Brisbane, Australia

169 Mary Street is a three-story masonry warehouse with a rendered facade, arched windows, and pilasters on Mary Street. The structure features a twin gable roof behind a parapet wall, large sash windows throughout, and an early goods lift in the southeast corner.

The warehouse was constructed between 1887 and 1888 by architect Richard Gailey for Queensland pastoralists. It emerged during Brisbane's commercial expansion in the late 1800s.

The building shows late Victorian design through its ornate facade and handcrafted details you can observe up close. The pressed metal ceilings and turned timber staircase reflect the tastes and craftsmanship of the 1880s.

The building is easily accessible from Edward Street, where parking is available. It sits on a main thoroughfare in Brisbane's central business district.

From 1928 to 1960, the space housed Mauri Brothers and Thomson Ltd, a significant commercial tenant of that era. After government acquisition, it transitioned to office and community organization use.
