The Jardinette Apartments building features four stories with continuous ribbon windows, flat roofs, and box-like forms following International Style principles.
Richard Neutra designed this structure in 1928 as his first solo commission in the United States, creating one of the earliest examples of International Style apartments.
The property reflects the architectural evolution of Los Angeles during the 1920s, introducing modernist design concepts to residential buildings in Southern California.
The renovation project includes adapting fifteen units to meet ADA standards, adding wider passageways and modified kitchens for improved accessibility.
The structure maintains ninety-five percent of its original wood framing despite decades of use, preserving authentic elements like subway tiles and hexagonal flooring.
