The Scottish Rite Masonic Temple features an Italian travertine marble exterior with eight 15-foot statues and decorative mosaics across its four-story structure.
Upon completion in 1961, the temple served as a regional meeting center for Freemasons until declining membership led to its closure in the mid-1990s.
The Maurice and Paul Marciano Art Foundation transformed the building into a contemporary art museum in 2017, displaying over 1,500 works from 200 artists.
Located at 4357 Wilshire Boulevard, this 110,000-square-foot building contains exhibition spaces, an auditorium, and dedicated areas for art storage.
The temple's exterior walls display cryptic Masonic symbols, biblical quotations, and historical references carved by sculptors Albert Stewart and John Edward Svenson.
