E. Clem Wilson Building, Art Deco skyscraper on Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, United States

The E. Clem Wilson Building is an Art Deco skyscraper clad in limestone that rises 13 stories along Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Geometric forms and multiple setbacks at different heights create accessible terraces, while its steel frame and concrete slabs allow flexible configurations for office spaces.

Meyer & Holler designed this commercial structure in 1929 during a period of rapid urban growth and architectural innovation in Los Angeles. Its Art Deco style reflects the modernist aesthetic that defined the city's development during that decade.

The building's Art Deco design with its distinctive setbacks and limestone exterior made it recognizable as the Daily Planet newspaper office during the first season of Adventures of Superman. This role in the popular television series demonstrated how the structure's architectural style could convey authority and modernity to audiences of that era.

The building sits at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue and is visible from multiple public viewpoints along the street. Visitors should note that this is an active office building and interior access may be restricted or limited.

The building changed hands multiple times and carried different corporate names on its facade, from Mutual of Omaha to Samsung. These shifts in signage reveal how the commercial identity and use of the structure evolved across decades.
