Westbeach Recorders, Recording studio in Hollywood, California.
Westbeach Recorders was a recording studio in Hollywood that operated from three different locations across Los Angeles. The facility functioned as a professional recording space with mixing and mastering capabilities throughout its 25-year history.
The studio was founded in 1985 by Brett Gurewitz, guitarist of Bad Religion, starting operations in Culver City. It relocated to Hollywood Boulevard where it remained until closing in 2010.
The facility recorded numerous punk rock bands including Bad Religion, Avenged Sevenfold, NOFX, Rancid, The Offspring, and Pennywise throughout its existence.
The studio was located at three addresses over time, with the final location at 6035 Hollywood Boulevard serving as its home base. A partner engineer managed day-to-day operations and recording sessions during its later years.
The final location previously served as Producer's Workshop, a space where Pink Floyd recorded sections of their album The Wall. This connection linked two significant chapters of rock music history in the same building.
