Earl Carroll Theatre, Television studio in Hollywood, US
The building at 6230 Sunset Boulevard features a Streamline Moderne architectural design with a 60-foot wide stage and ceiling-mounted swings.
Earl Carroll Theatre opened in December 1938 with a 20-foot neon portrait of performer Beryl Wallace adorning the facade of the building.
The venue transformed from a supper club to Moulin Rouge nightclub, then Hullabaloo rock club, before becoming Nickelodeon on Sunset television studio.
The facility served as the production location for multiple Nickelodeon shows including iCarly, Victorious, Drake & Josh from 1997 to 2017.
The theater contained mechanical innovations including a rotating stage floor and automated rigging systems for moving set pieces during performances.
