KTTV is a television station in Los Angeles, California, and is part of the Fox Television Stations group. Its broadcast facilities are located at the Fox Television Center in West Los Angeles, while the transmitter stands on the summit of Mount Wilson.
The license was issued to the Times Mirror Company in 1947, with CBS taking a minority stake to support the construction phase. Metromedia acquired the station in 1963, before News Corporation bought it in 1986 and made it a founding outlet for the new Fox network.
The station transmitted its first broadcast of the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 1949, continuing this New Year's Day tradition until 1995.
The station produces more than 50 hours of local news programming each week, including morning shows and evening summaries. Much of this content is also available through digital streaming platforms.
The station broadcast the Pasadena Rose Parade for the first time on New Year's Day in 1949 and maintained this tradition for over four decades. This broadcast became a regular fixture in local television culture until 1995.
