March Field Air Museum, Aviation museum in Riverside County, US

March Field Air Museum is an aviation museum beside March Air Reserve Base, near Moreno Valley and Riverside, California. Since 1993 it has occupied a 19,200 sq ft hangar on a 30-acre parcel west of the runway along Interstate 215, with aircraft displayed outdoors and in indoor galleries. The collection reached 120 aircraft with an F-16 added on 3 October 2025.

The museum was founded in 1979 as March Air Force Base Museum and opened to the public on 19 December 1979 in the former base theater, Building 467. After the March Field Museum Foundation was set up in May 1980, it moved to the 26,000 sq ft former commissary, Building 420, reopening on 20 February 1981. It was renamed March Field Museum by 1983 and took its present name in May 1999.

The Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial, dedicated on 27 October 2010, stands on the museum grounds; the act signed on 25 July 2014 gave it national status. Nearby, a 15th Air Force Commemorative Wall, dedicated in 1998, honours the men and women who served in that World War II air force.

The museum sits on a 30-acre parcel beside the runway along Interstate 215, with a 19,200 sq ft main hangar and outdoor aircraft displays; the Tony LeVier Hangar of the P-38 National Association stands south of the main hangar. Expect to walk between indoor galleries and the outdoor yard, and check opening days before travelling to the base area near Moreno Valley.

The museum's grounds hold the Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial, dedicated on 27 October 2010 and designated a national memorial by an act signed on 25 July 2014. Nearby stands a memorial to the astronauts lost in the Challenger and Columbia disasters, built around a Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster.
