The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral was a 30-second shootout between lawmen and members of a loosely organized group of outlaws.
The historic event took place on October 26, 1881, and is generally regarded as the most famous gunfight in the history of the American Wild West.
This gunfight has been portrayed in many western movies and books, becoming a symbol of the wild frontier.
Today, an outdoor theater re-enacts the event in Tombstone for the public, bringing history to life.
Despite its name, the gunfight did not take place within or next to the O.K. Corral, but in a narrow lot on Fremont Street, six doors west of it.
