Brown Canyon Ranch, Historic adobe ranch house in Huachuca Mountains foothills, Arizona.
The four-room ranch house features traditional adobe construction with white-painted walls, wooden doors, and window frames surrounded by natural desert vegetation.
Built in 1907 by James and Tom Haverty, the ranch changed ownership multiple times until 1998 when it was transferred to the USDA Forest Service.
Mexican workers and Yaqui Indian residents, including Chico Romero and his family, contributed to the development and operations of the ranch.
The site remains open during daylight hours for visitors to explore the house, surrounding trails, and natural ponds without entrance fees.
The property includes man-made ponds that now serve as a conservation area for the endangered Chiricahua leopard frog species.
