Quinchía, Mountain municipality in Risaralda, Colombia

Located at 1,825 meters elevation, Quinchía extends across 149 square kilometers of rolling hills within Colombia's coffee production region.

The municipality gained official recognition in 1888 through the efforts of community leaders Gabriel Vinasco, Zoilo Bermúdez, and other local representatives.

Four indigenous tribes maintain their presence in Quinchía, preserving traditional practices while participating in modern coffee cultivation activities.

Visitors can reach the municipality by taking regular bus services from Pereira, situated 110 kilometers away, or traditional chivas from Manizales.

The area near Mápura School contains large indentations in stone that local residents interpret as footprints from ancient deities.
