Old Providence McBean Lagoon National Natural Park

The park encompasses 9.95 square kilometers, with 9.05 square kilometers of marine territory featuring coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass meadows along the northeast coast.

Established in 1995, this national park became part of the UNESCO Seaflower Biosphere Reserve in 2000 and joined the Archipelago's Seaflower Marine Protected Area in 2004.

Local fishermen and residents maintain traditional practices while collaborating with conservation efforts to protect the marine ecosystems within the park boundaries.

Visitors can access the park via a 30-minute flight from San Andres to El Embrujo Airport or through a 4-hour catamaran journey across Caribbean waters.

The park contains part of the Caribbean's second-largest barrier reef system, which creates a spectrum of water colors through its varied coral formations.
