Los Aleros is a theme park in Mérida that recreates a traditional Venezuelan Andean town from the 1930s. The grounds feature authentic buildings, historical objects, and exhibitions showing how people lived in different regions of the country.
The park was founded in 1984 and represents twelve different regions of Venezuela from the Gómez era. The architecture and collected objects reflect the historical development of those parts of the country.
The place displays Venezuelan heritage through demonstrations of traditional crafts and regional customs from different parts of the country. Visitors can watch how artisans work and experience daily life as it was practiced in those communities.
The park is located about 45 minutes from Mérida city center and offers restaurants serving regional dishes. There are multiple entertainment areas and activities for families to enjoy.
Creating the park required over 87 vintage vehicles and three million old roof tiles as building materials. This unusual collection of objects makes the place feel like a living time capsule.
