Museo Alberto Arvelo Torrealba

The museum occupies a colonial mansion from 1776 with large rooms, clay walls, and traditional tile roofing in the historical center of Barinas.

In 1813, this building hosted a dance celebration in honor of Simon Bolivar and later became home to several prominent figures of Venezuelan independence.

The museum exhibits personal belongings of poet Alberto Arvelo Torrealba and maintains collections dedicated to local traditions, including Venezuelan llanería music.

The museum stands near Plaza Bolivar, at the intersection of Calle 5 de Julio between Medina Jimenez and Libertad avenues in central Barinas.

The building features iron balustrades imported during the late 19th century, replacing original wooden railings while maintaining its colonial structure.
