Troncones

Troncones is a village spread along a Pacific coastline at an elevation of 3 meters (10 feet), featuring sandy beaches with mountains rising inland. The settlement has basic infrastructure including residential homes, small shops, and lodging options for visitors.

The area developed from a small fishing settlement into a coastal destination after La Unión municipality was established in 1870. The formation of the municipality shaped the development of surrounding coastal areas and laid the foundation for the present community.

Residents continue traditional fishing practices while running small guesthouses and restaurants serving regional Guerrero dishes prepared with fresh seafood.

The village connects to Zihuatanejo through a coastal road, providing access to more services and the nearest international airport. Visitors should note that infrastructure here is modest, and it is wise to bring needed supplies or shop in larger towns beforehand.
