The San Miguel Arcangel Church presents stone walls, pink quarry details, and a three-level bell tower within the Independence Garden of Uriangato.
Construction of the church took place between 1897 and 1923 under the direction of Fray Ubertino del Socorro Herrera with support from local residents.
The church follows a Latin cross layout with lateral altars containing images of the Sacred Heart and the Virgin of Carmen, decorated with gold leaf details.
Religious services and celebrations occur throughout the year, with the main festival taking place on September 29, honoring Saint Michael the Archangel.
The bell tower features a German-made three-sided clock that arrived in 1919 through a complex journey by rail and mule transportation.
