Profética Casa de la Lectura

Profética Casa de la Lectura is a bookstore and cultural center in the Historic Centre of Puebla that occupies multiple rooms of a colonial building. The space combines a public reading area, a coffeehouse, a restaurant, and a commercial book shop with independent publishers in one location.

The building dates to the 16th century and was originally known as Casa de la Limpia. Following extensive renovation in the early 2000s, it was transformed into its current role as a literature and cultural space.

The name references an ancient prophet, reflecting the literary focus that defines how people use this space today. Visitors find others seated among books, drinking coffee, and conversing, as if the place shelters a community of readers.

The center is located in the historic district with easy access, as most sections have ground-level entrances. Visitors should know that the various rooms connect through narrow corridors, which means exploring the entire space takes time.
