The Tampico Mexico Temple features white marble walls from Torreón, standing at 71 feet with a single spire topped by an angel Moroni statue.
The temple opened on May 20, 2000, as the 83rd temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, marking expansion in the Tamaulipas region.
The temple serves 18,000 members across four stakes, three districts, and the Mexico Tampico Mission through religious ceremonies and ordinances.
Located at Avenida Ejército Mexicano 74 in Colonia Loma del Gallo, the temple provides endowment sessions in multiple languages with prior scheduling recommended.
The temple's construction eliminated the need for local members to traverse the Sierra Madre mountains for a 500-mile journey to Mexico City.
