Mérida México Temple

The Mérida Mexico Temple features white marble from Torreón and includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry within its 10,700 square feet.

Construction began on January 16, 1999, and Thomas S. Monson dedicated the completed temple on July 8, 2000, during four sessions attended by 5,400 members.

The temple functions as a religious center in the Yucatán Peninsula, near archaeological sites of Uxmal and Chichén Itzá, serving 33,000 members across Mexico and Belize.

Located at Calle 70 #527 in central Mérida, the temple provides religious services, clothing distribution, and accessibility accommodations for members with specific requirements.

The temple exhibits modern architectural design with a single attached spire topped by a statue of the angel Moroni, rising 34 feet above ground level.
