Mary and John Gray Library, University library at Lamar University in Beaumont, United States
The eight-story Mary and John Gray Library contains four floors of books and periodicals organized by the Library of Congress classification system.
The library opened its doors on April 26, 1976, following a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe and Congressman Jack Brooks.
The seventh floor features three named rooms: the Lamar Room, Spindletop Room, and Plummer Room, each representing significant Texas historical figures.
The facility accommodates 850 students with 17 study rooms, a computer lab with 120 workstations, and provides interlibrary loan services.
In 2021, the Texas Legislature approved 44.9 million dollars for expansion and improvements to modernize the library facilities.
